Home to Electric Avenue, Bowie and of course LFA, Brixton's one of the best spots going for discovering all things independent. Whether it's books or beers you fancy, we've rounded up some of our favourite local haunts. You're welcome.
Pop Brixton is a space for independent and small businesses to come together to share food, music and culture within the community. What started off as a temporary project has now become one of South London's most iconic features. Plus, Zoe's Ghana Kitchen does some of the best stew we've ever tasted, so it's worth a visit for that alone.
Brixton Book Mongers is a book lovers paradise. Whatever your literary taste buds there's a genre for everyone, and all the books are really affordable. If this didn't tempt you enough, spot their resident pup to the left of the photo. A win-win situation in our eyes.
CAYA coffee may look like a (very beautiful!) coffee shop but their multi-purpose, open plan layout also provides a work/office space. Their cheap hourly rates, as well as yearly contracts accommodate all customers, making it a really great place to work on business plans, host meetings or study.
Crêpes aren't just for Shrove Tuesday, and Senzala have some of the best ones going. Enjoy yours sweet or savoury - our favourite is the Spaniard.
The Turpentine is a treasure trove of goodies. With items carefully curated from a number of independent brands, head here for beautiful homeware and last minute gifts.
