If we had a pound for every time we’re asked if a brand is ready for hourly PR, we’d be writing this blog post from the Bahamas. So before we book our flights, we thought we’d write a guide explaining how to get your brand in shape before investing in kickass PR.Here we go:
Step 1: Get your brand looking right
Words cannot express how important this is! You might have the best product in the world, but if your website is dated, hard to navigate, or has low quality images, you won’t get the attention (and sales) you deserve.
It’s true what they say; you don’t get a second chance to make a first impression. Investing in a new website and sleek product photography before making contact with the press will not only increase your chances of gaining coverage, but it will ensure you get the most out of our Hourly PR service. Trust us, it’ll be worth the cost in the long run.
Step 2: Get your images ready for press
Once you’ve got your website looking swish and new product photography in the bag, it’s vital that you have your product images and high-res cut outs ready to send to press. The quicker we can reply to a request for imagery, the more time we have to crack on with getting your brand seen. It’s also a good time to think about your additional resources, such as line sheets and lookbooks. Click here to see how we can help.
Step 3: Create inspiring lifestyle imagery
It’s not enough to have clean and professional product shots; you also need a library of beautifully shot lifestyle imagery featuring your product. 10 years in the industry has taught us that publications buy into the overall tone and identity of a brand. Done correctly, these images will strike a chord with the editorial team and get your product samples called in for a shoot. Which brings us to…
Step 4: Get your samples ready!
So, a publication loves your product and wants to shoot it for their next feature. Great news! But are you ready to send it to them without delay? We don’t handle samples for our clients (click here to read why), but we’re here every step of the way to help you get them sent to the right place. We’ll even organise their safe return to your office. You just need to make sure that they’re ready to go.
Step 5: Get your pricing sorted
If your product is featured in a shoot (hurrah!), the publication will need the price of the product to include in their credit. We need you to supply us with a fixed pricing list for the key products before we make contact with the press – fluctuating prices can cause nasty inconsistencies in press coverage and no one wants that.
Step 6: Get your social media looking sweet-as
It’s pure and simple, inactive social channels make your brand look unconnected and disinterested. Make sure you show your social some love before we begin our Hourly PR service to ensure we hit the ground running. Need a little help? You can find out what we can do for your social here.
Phew, we made it! 6 simple steps to ensure that you get the most out of our Hourly PR. But remember, this service is only for promoting 1 or 2 key pieces, pop ups or new collection announcements. For meatier jobs, take a look at our PR Retainer.
